What is the Serve Team?
Church was never meant to be something we simply attend—it is a community we belong to, participate in, and help build together.
The Word of Life Serve Team is made up of people who are using their unique gifts, passions, personalities, and abilities to serve Jesus by serving others. Every week, ordinary people help create spaces where others can encounter Christ, experience genuine hospitality, find community, grow in faith, and know that they belong.
Whether you are welcoming someone through the doors, serving coffee, caring for children and students, leading worship, capturing a moment through photography, helping someone take a Next Step, praying with someone, preparing the Communion table, caring for our campus, leading a Life Group, or serving behind the scenes—your part matters.
You don't have to be a professional, have years of experience, or know exactly where you fit before you begin. Many of our teams provide training and opportunities to learn as you serve.
Our Serve Teams include areas such as First Impressions, Next Steps, Word Café, Worship, Arts, Visual & Audio, Photography & Capture, Social Media, Communion, Baptism, Prayer, Pastoral Care, Kids, Students, College & Career, Life Groups, Culture, Events, Maintenance, and more.
We believe the gifts God has placed within you were never intended for you alone. As Scripture reminds us, we are called to use what we have received to serve one another as faithful stewards of God's grace.
Serving isn't just about filling a position. It's about participating in the life of the house, building relationships, making room for others, and becoming more like Jesus—the One who came not to be served, but to serve.
Some teams require completion of Grow Class, training, background checks, or specific skill requirements.
Bring your gifts. Bring your passion. Bring your willingness. There's a place for you here.
