That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;  Holding forth the Word of Life.

:: Who We Are

Word of Life Ministry is a Spirit-filled ministry whose purpose is to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of the Kingdom of God in love.

We are a local assembly that is relational and covenantal.

Our message is one of grace, mercy, love and restoration.

We emphasize the finished work of Calvary.  Jesus Christ is the triumphant Lamb of God, overcoming the powers of darkness, and now reigns as King of kings.

Our message, praise, and worship has Jesus at it's center as the Lord of all.

We intend to be relevant to our community and in the world.

We intend to be a multi-racial, multi-cultural, trans-denominational church which trains and equips men and women to be all that God created them to be.

We minister without prejudice and without condemnation.  We reach across religious and social barriers to every level of society with the message of Christ and His Kingdom.

We are an apostolic and prophetic ministry which recognizes spiritual authority and the order of God's Kingdom.

:: Our Purpose

It is our purpose to advance the Kingdom of God in love.

To minister unselfishly to persons in the community and the world in Jesus' name.

To be Christ-like in our daily living by emphasizing the total commitment of our life, character, and possessions to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

To demonstrate to the world the love, mercy, grace, and power of God.

To be a city of refuge to those who need healing and restoration.

To be a covenantal people networking with God given relationships in ministry, churches and families.

To be a Spirit-filled church with an emphasis on Praise, Worship, and Covenant Relationships.

It is our purpose to extend our hands and hearts to the outcasts and the downtrodden; to give unconditional love to whosoever will come.

To be a local fellowship where the Holy Spirit can flow through worship, preaching, teaching and gifts of the Spirit.

To break down the walls of division and prejudice within the body of Christ and to keep the unity of the faith (not uniformity).

To be a demonstration (witness) of God's Kingdom in the earth.

To reach out in to our community and be relevant not religious.

:: The Spirit of our Government

The Biblical concept of governing is different from worldly standards. In God’s Kingdom, leaders rule with hearts of servants, not lords (Matthew 20:20-28).

Gifted with administrative abilities, WE will deal decisively with issues that affect the human worth, but WE serve people with humility and grace. WE lead by example not legislation.

Our concept of authority is based in mutual submission. WE govern in the spirit of maintaining relationships, not for the protection of doctrinal positions. If correction is necessary, we do so to produce the peaceful fruit of righteousness, not estrangement (Hebrews 12:11).

The ultimate goal of our leadership is to bring maturity and unity to the Body of Christ, building them up in love and laboring until Christ is formed in them (Ephesians 4:11-16; Galatians 4:19).

WE are ultimately answerable to God, yet WE submit ourselves to one another to receive corporate wisdom of God.

:: Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

3. We believe in the deity of Jesus of Nazareth, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

4. We believe that salvation of lost and sinful man, and regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential and is obtained by grace through faith alone.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Ghost by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

6. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

7. We believe in the literal appearing of Jesus Christ which will occur when the gospel of the Kingdom has been preached in all the earth as witness (in demonstration).  At His appearing, the Kingdom of God will be fully established in the earth and He will reign forever.

8. We determine to live by and uphold the highest standards of biblical ethics and Christian integrity, while never dishonoring those who fail to do so. Our desire will always be to balance the need for dialogue and fresh revelation, with a responsibility to guard the historical doctrines of the Christian faith.

9. We will never condone, nor cover up, nor encourage the private or public violation of the holy standards of God’s word, our sense of human respect and decency, and or civil responsibility. We stand accountable first and foremost to God, then to one another, and finally to the precious people Christ died for and called us to serve.

10. We believe in the Church. All believers in Christ are members of the Universal Church.  We believe that the local Church is divinely instituted and is the instrument of God for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom.  The local Church is the vehicle for evangelism, teaching and training of Christians for the work of the ministry.

11.  We believe in water baptism.  Water baptism being the means by which we receive the New Covenant sign of circumcision.  Through water baptism, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

12.  We believe in the ordinance of holy communion.  The sacraments represent the broken body and the shed blood Jesus Christ.  The communion serves to show his death and remind us of our fellowship with him.

13.  We believe in the ministry of laying on of hands.  Laying on of hands serves to confirm the calling of one in to the ministry, to impart spiritual gifts, for the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and for ministering healing to the sick.

14.  We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct and separate experience subsequent to salvation.  The Spirit filled experience brings power to witness and its accompanying gifts and fruit.

15.  We believe in the present day ministries of the Apostles and Prophets set in the church by Jesus Christ as foundational and revelatory ministries.
